A Redesign Project for the University of Applied Sciences, Munich

The starting point of this project was a system consisting of an artificial urinary bladder implanted in the patient's body, a loading device for loading the bladder's battery, a remote control for emptying the bladder and a loading base for supporting of the loading device.

New Concept Features:

+ Adjustable screen on loading device.

+ Ergonomic and adjustable belt. More comfort for the user.

+ Cable connection during loading phase eliminated through an additional external battery set. A higher independence level for the patient was achieved.

+ New functionalities added to the loading device and the remote control.

+ Improvement of the symbols to minimize possible misunderstandings.

Redesign of External Devices for an Artificial Urinary Bladder
A new design, considering patient profile and needs was required. An ergonomic design, usability issues and implementation of new functions were brought into play.
